Riders of the Light is the 7th track of Disc 1 of the Bayonetta Original Soundtrack, as well as the 17th track of Disc 4 of the Bayonetta 2 Original Soundtrack. The theme serves as an occasional fighting theme for certain verses throughout the Bayonetta series.
The track first appears in one of the earlier cutscenes of Bayonetta where the titular character is dressed as a nun to call forth angels to slaughter them. It appears later throughout the game in subsequent chapters when fighting more intermediate-level enemies, most commonly Grace, Glory, Gracious, Glorious, Fearless, and Fairness.
In Bayonetta 2, the track returns when Bayonetta is sent back to Vigrid 500 years ago during the Witch Hunts. Much like in the first game, it returns for higher-level enemies such as the previously mentioned Grace and Glory. The track can also be heard in certain verses during some Lost Chapter challenges post-game.
