After Burner Kick is an aerial Technique in both Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 game that can be purchased from the Gates Of Hell. Using it causes Bayonetta to fly toward an opponent and deliver a nice fiery kick for extra damage.

Usage[]

On the ground, After Burner Kick is triggered by pressing the Jump and Kick buttons rapidly one after the other in that order. This can be performed a second time using the double jump (and a 3rd time after a wall jump). Holding down the button allows Bayonetta to use the currently equipped weapon's Charge Modifier, whether that be bullets or extra hits. In proximity to smaller or stunned enemies, the move sends foes skyward and allows Bayonetta to hit them with her other aerial combo attacks.

In mid-air, pushing forward on the control stick and pressing the kick button will let Bayonetta perform After Burner Kick downwards, pushing launched enemies back down to the ground and stunning them. During this move's animation, holding the Kickbutton turns this move into a multi-hit version that slowly penetrates though enemies while keeping them in place. This move acts as a replacement for Heel Slide which does not have an aerial version like its Stiletto counterpart does.

Other Appearances[]

Super Smash Bros. 4[]

In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS & Wii U, 'After Burner Kick' acts as Bayonetta's aerial side special. Like with most of Bayonetta's moves in the game, a successful hit with the move will allow to chain it with another After Burner Kick or any of her aerial moves in a combo. Pressing down before using this move will make Bayonetta kick downwards.

Trivia[]

  • The After Burner Kick is named after After Burner, a video game series produced, and made by SEGA, the original publisher of Bayonetta.
